Michael Ryan Fundraiser January 28, 2012 5 year old Michael Ryan is the ailing son of NYPD retirees Sgt. Mike and PO Lauren Ryan both formerly of the 72nd Pct. The youngster was diagnosed last year with a very aggressive form of children's cancer, known as T-Cell Leukemia. His prognosis for recovery is good at this time as he continues with a regimen of intense treatments. Recently he began receiving radiation 5 days per week and in the long range he will undergo another 3 years of cancer care. Emerald Society President Sean Patterson hopes to continue supporting the Ryan Family through their crisis. A recent benefit sponsored by the AOH & LAOH Division IV on Staten Island raised money towards the overwhelming medical bills little Michael's hospital care has incurred. But new bills keep coming in as his treatments continue. Under Patterson's direction the Emerald Society will continue to accept donations for the next 2 months.
