5th ANNUAL SUMMER GETAWAY JULY 9th-13th AT THE FRIAR TUCK RESORT:
If you're looking for a great summer vacation this year, please join the NYPD Emerald Society for a mid-July holiday, at the Friar Tuck Resort. A two hour ride north on the NYS Thruway will bring you to the beautiful Catskill Mountains. Our last 2 excursions to the resort have been great times for all our guests. The trip offers an incredible value during these difficult economic times. For families, up to 3 children under the age of 16 years stay free! For older kids 16 thru 18 years the rate is $35.00 per night. All room rates include your taxes & gratuities. All meals are included, starting with dinner on your day of arrival and ending with lunch on your day of departure. Our guests have the option of 2, 3 or 4 night stays. There is a separate early arrival rate for Thursday check-ins, that night is only $101.12 per adult. We will have bands playing during the afternoon at poolside. BBQ lunches will also be by the pools. Our exclusive Emerald Society Hospitality Room will be nearby, featuring an Open-Bar with complimentary beer, wine & soda! There will be plenty of activities including softball games, bingo and outdoor games for the youngsters. Nearby is discounted golf and horseback riding. At night we move the fun inside. The music continues with more shows by Shay Mac, The Moonshiners and The Garda Band. Saturday night the Kids Patriotic Parade takes place under the stars, as our bagpipers lead the red, white & blue. After some patriotic singing, we all indulge in an Ice Cream Party! For those who like to keep late, late nights there's a DJ playing in the lounge till the wee hours. WEST POINT FOOTBALL GAME AND TAILGATE PARTY:
“Mark your calendars! This year’s Emerald Society West Point Football Game and Tailgate Party will be: October 10, 2009 versus Vanderbilt! We are expecting an early afternoon game. As always, your subscription will bring you before and after tailgating under a tent with tables and chairs, hot and cold food, beverages, parking pass, and ticket to the game. This year’s tailgate site will be South Dock, right at the water’s edge, and with an October game we can expect great fall foliage to accompany our festivities! As in prior years, bus transportation from and to Long Island and Brooklyn will be available for a nominal additional fee. Prices will be posted at a later date as we strive to hold the line on costs during these tough economic times. SEND US YOUR ADDRESS CHANGES: If you have moved in recent times, please send us your new updated mailing address as soon as possible. After many of our membership mailings (newsletter, chance book, card renewal etc.) numerous items are returned and marked undeliverable. Our direct mailings are costly ventures, but it is a priority for us to keep our members informed as much as possible. Having up-to-date and accurate information will enable us to keep our expenses down. Our Society's funds can be better utilized for other worthy projects, such as the Scholarship Programs. Please contact Board Officer Karyn Lang at our Database, regarding address changes. You can also inform her of marital name changes.

2009 EMERALD SOCIETY MEMBERSHIP NOW AVAILABLE ON-LINE: Now with the secure and convenient PAYPAL billing system Membership can be a click away. Members can now renew their enrollment online by going to the Website's JOIN US section. We ask that you please use your Tax Registry # for our General Members (Active & Retired MOS), for already enrolled Associate Members please provide your prior year's Card #. Anyone who wishes to become a 1st time Associate Member must apply by mail or in person with a NYPD Emerald Society Delegate. Our Rules of Membership are strictly enforced, as they say "membership is a privilege!"
